ok, so here's whats going on,
'03 R6, bike was running fine, then the battery took a dump, so i charged it a few times, then went and purchased another battery. installed battery, bike started idling really weird almost like it was a cylinder cutting out, dropping rpm's and sometimes dying. Took bike out, down on power, again like it was down a cylinder, in all rpm ranges. took plugs out and cleaned plugs, tried again, same thing. although it started and idled fine at first. so i purchased new plugs, installed those. started, took it out, fine at first, then started noticing the same thing in high RPMs, and when i was getting ready to park, started again in low RPMs. When i had the plugs out the second time, i did a DIAG mode check, had a 23 and 46 error. i cleared them, and disconnected the battery, then thats when i took it out this last time. i have not ran the DIAG mode since. Now, does anyone have a suggestion. i noticed it kept telling me to do a "reinstatement mode", but i could not find the directions to do this. and is there a way other than disconnecting the battery to do a ECU reset.
Thanks for sticking around and reading,
I just got stationed in germany and dont want to miss out on riding the "Ring" _________________ 03" R6 - Wheels down never up!!! |

Your coils might be bad. If I remember right there was a recall on certain years of R-6's for coil issues. I'd also do a voltage check, as your regulator/recitifier might not be charging your battery all the way. I'd look on-line for an R-6 forum, as you'll be able to get alot more info there. Not that I don't want to help, I'm just not too familiar with your bike. _________________ Douglas Cook
