| So I had done a modification to the Airbox on my Ninja, no big deal. Had to rejet the carbs because of it, no big deal. I tear off the tank and get to the carb. I get to the covers for the diaphram and needle and because of thier absurd position i strip 2 of the screw, what maintainer hasnt stripped a perfectly good screw. After cursing the bike/myself for several minutes I removed the carbs and got the striped screws. I started to rejet when the wife called me over to grab the trash from the balcony. My little 1 year old monster took that opprotunity to shove every bit and piece he could find down my muffler. After catching him in the act i then ripped off my muffler. I still cannot get all the crap out of it!!!. After about 45 min of rattling, shaking and cursing at this muffler I admit defeat. So now I have to open up a sealed muffler. I need advice on where to get some of the supplies and some welding. I can cut the thing open with a dremel (probably take forever, but possible.) and then gut the muffler. My problem is going to be getting perforated tubing, fibreglass to replack it and the welding. If yall have any advice let me know. |

most of the stuff you can get in Trier at louis.... BUT, to save you the time, try getting one on ebay... there is slight chance you can get one there and save you the time... _________________ 1986 Honda Shadow VT750C

If you really want to cut into the muffler... You can call my landlord (also a metal meister)... if there is anyone I know in GE that can cut into that and weld it back together properly, it is him. Metal work is his primary job and he is an honest guy that won't BS you. He speaks decent english and won't crush you on the bill. Tell him I (Jeremy) recomended him to you. Either he or his brother shouldn't have any problems doing it or they will tell you your options...
I would bring you by his shop...but I am currently deployed.

Well, there are a few things that you can do.
Buy off Ebay a OEM and call it good (you might need a OEM one for inspection)
Buy one local at Polo or Louis...
OR, what I would think about doing is getting a Remus exhaust... Expencive, but well worth it. Remus is a great product, does not have that loud, rip your ear off sound. It is more of a more musical (for the lack of a better term) sound to it. LINK: http://www.remusexhaustshop.com/motorcycles-c-142.html _________________ 1986 Honda Shadow VT750C
